THE WAR OF WOO
Thin Duke Productions in association with Sparkplug Productions presents
"THE WAR OF WOO"

A world premiere directed by Philip Cruise
Written by Emmy and Ringo award winning cartoonist and playwright Dean Haspiel

Featuring:
Seth Gilliam, Stoya, Christopher Lee, and Philip Cruise

We are incredibly excited to present the world premiere of Dean Haspiel's play, "THE WAR OF WOO." Dean returns to the stage with this comic book/theatrical hybrid starring Seth Gilliam (The Walking Dead), Stoya (A.I. Rising) and directed by Philip Cruise. The play follows a diverse and dynamic group of New Yorkers (the Bombastic Four) as they explore the complicated, violent, and passionate relationship between Hollywood, Heaven, and Hell. Ultimately, this cross-dimensional love story sets in motion the cosmic genesis of New Brooklyn, the setting of Haspiel's acclaimed series of graphic novels, "The Red Hook."

Director Philip Cruise, writer Dean Haspiel, Producer Edward Miller and cast member Seth Gilliam all met as students at SUNY Purchase, and have continued to work and play together for many years. Several of the amazingly talented performers in the cast were in Haspiel's 2018 production of "The Last Bar at the End of The World," as well as Dean's critically acclaimed sold-out run of "Harakiri Kane" in Brooklyn in November of 2017.  These artists, along with Haspiel collaborator Stoya (adult-film legend, actress and writer), all believe in Dean's emerging theatrical voice and have joined forces to present this innovative theatrical
examination of Hollywood, Heaven and Hell.
